There is always a cost to ship items. Because carriers don't work for free, if an item sold anywhere, shows as "free shipping", the delivery costs are included in sales price. Trident Furniture does a fantastic job keeping shipping costs as low as possible. After you place an order, you will be contacted about shipping, to make sure we provide the services you need at the lowest possible cost. Online shopping does not have any magic system for determining common carrier freight shipping, so we get several quotes and provide that information to you. You can always use your own carrier or pick up yourself. There may be a handling fee. While we do not recommend that, it's always an option. The First Step to Successful Shipping
The biggest secret of successful shipping is simple. It is this: Pay attention to the details. If you placed an order with Trident Furniture, you should have received a phone call to confirm the details of shipping your order. Your address, your phone number (that gets answered), and your type of facility should all have been reviewed.
When you sign the order acknowledgment or confirm your order or send a purchase order, you should read it caefully. You confirm their accuracy when you sign or confirm. Due to the variety of products we offer, most items require a freight quote. Trident is committed to shipping on time and as cost effective as possible. Some items are priced “delivered” or "Freight Included" and others a flat fee per item. This should be clearly stated on the purchaing page. Please refer to the individual item page for shipping times, or call us toll-free at 1-866-485-2864 ext. 202.
If delivery time is a concern, contact us and we will give you an ship date. Rush processing is available on all items. A “Rush” puts your order at the front of the queue and it will be shipped ASAP. Orders using expedited delivery that cannot be fulfilled within ten business days will be refunded the expedited shipping fee and the order will ship within the standard delivery time. Please note that rush processing does not speed up shipping time, only how quickly the items are shipped.

How much does shipping cost?
Orders are usually shipped via common carrier in a semi-truck and are shipped ''Dock to Dock'' or "Tail gate Delivery". Liftgate Service will incur an additional charge which is charged by the shipper. Some of our items ship disassembled. Inside delivery or assembly is not included but can be requested for a fee.
Many items do require a freight quote for us to get the best price for freight. After your order is placed, and within 24 hours (1 business day) a sales representative will contact you with your estimated freight charges. At that point you can determine if you want to pay the freight charges or cancel your order.
Some items do not include freight; i.e. hospitality seating, stack chairs and folding chairs. Some shipments may not be left at your door without your signature. We cannot be held responsible for freight costs incurred by returned shipments for this reason. We reserve the right to bill you for shipping charges on refused shipments. We reserve the right to bill you for incorrect delivery addresses, typos caused by you when your order was placed and requests to forward shipments to another address. Shipping charges are non-refundable.
How much is shipping to Canada? Please call us for a specific quote with broker fees and taxes. International shipping: Customers are responsible for applicable taxes, duties, and brokerage fees.
All Canadian shipments are subject to tariffs, duties, and/or brokerage fees implemented by the freight carrier and/or respective government agency. We are not responsible for any surcharges placed by these third parties, and they will be the sole responsibility of the customer. Before placing your order, you may check with the carrier for any such fees. If a package is refused by the customer and sent back to our warehouse, a refund will be issued minus the outgoing shipping cost, and the cost of the return shipping that we incur. Canadian shipments are subject to inspection by these intermediaries, and we are not responsible for any shipping delays when the package is in the customs process. We state the accurate prices for the declared value, and item descriptions, on international forms and paperwork.
Common Carrier: A common carrier, more often referred to as simply a carrier, is a person or company that transports goods on regular routes at set rates.
Trident uses a nationwide (including Canada and Mexico) network of common carriers. Our partnerships with these carriers allow us to deliver the most cost-effective and hassle-free freight shipping services to you. Our common carrier partners are some of the leading trucking lines and freight companies within the United States.
Contract Load: A contract load is a shipment handled by a carrier (a trucking company) that generally contracts an entire trailer-load to a single customer. They travel from point to point as opposed to using a next work of terminals that move the freight from one LTL truck to another.
BOL: A Bill of Lading is standard, mandatory paperwork providing the carrier and driver with all pertinent information related to the shipment. All parties involved should have a copy of the BOL (buyer, seller and carrier).
Consignee: In a contract of carriage, the consignee is the entity who is financially responsible (the buyer) for the receipt of a shipment. Generally, but not always, the consignee is the same as the receiver.
Consignor: Usually the sender of a shipment.
Lift Gate: Most shipments are "tail-gate" or "dock to dock" See above. When a liftgate is desired, the carrier for a fee, takes the freight to ground level. Liftgates vary in size and are depended on the carrier.

Tail Gate / Tailgate Service: The Most Common type of delivery is called tailgate delivery. The carrier makes the items available on the tailgate of the trailer or truck. This means that if you don't have a loading dock or haven't arranged and paid for a liftgate, the receiver is responsible to take items off the tailgate of the truck. The driver will bring the items to the edge of the trailer. For some people this is not a problem and for others it can be a challenge. Please talk to your sales representative about the options available.
Residential Service Fees: These are fees that some carriers charge for residential delivery. That is, shipping to a primarily non-commercial location. This includes apartments, residences, farms, estates, remote locations, schools and churches. The cost to ship can also change when delivering to a limited-access location (i.e. construction sites, military bases, camps, and storage-unit facilities). Trident tries to use carriers that do not surcharge to keep freight costs down. This is disclosed in advance in your freight quote.
Semi-trailer Truck: A semi-trailer truck is the combination of a tractor unit and one or more semi-trailers to carry freight. They go by many names including a cargo carrying truck, smi-truck, semi-trailer, tractor-trailer, 18-wheeler, the list goes on.
